SYD UK CLG is a charity registered in England and Wales (Registered number 1090984) and a Company Limited by Guarantee (Company No. 04217305). The primary purpose of SYD UK is to enable people to participate in the practices of Siddha Yoga. This privacy notice explains how SYD UK uses any personal information collected about you when you use this website.
What information will SYD UK gather about you?
SYD UK will gather information about you when you enter it via this website or when you ask to be added to the SYD UK mailing list in some other way (e.g. by post). The information you will be invited to complete includes name, contact details and which, if any, Siddha Yoga Meditation Centres and/or Chanting and Meditation Groups you are interested in being informed about. You will be asked for your date of birth and whether you have children, because we only wish to register individuals over the age of 18. Also, the age information is useful because some of the opportunities to participate in the practices of Siddha Yoga may be of particular interest to certain age groups.
How SYD UK uses the information?
SYD UK gathers personal information about you to enable us to keep you informed about events and opportunities for participation in the practices of Siddha Yoga organized by SYD UK. If you have agreed for us to use your information for seva purposes, SYD UK may also use the information to contact you regarding seva opportunities and to process applications from you for a seva position.
How long will SYD UK keep the information ?
Periodically SYD UK will contact you to remind you that we hold personal information about you for the agreed purposes and to request that you confirm that the information we hold is still accurate.
You may update your details via this website or by writing to us at the address at the bottom of this Privacy Notice at any time.
Additional Privacy Protections for Children
We encourage children and minors to ask parental permission before sending any information about themselves (name, address, email address, etc.) to anyone over the Internet. We encourage parents/guardians to get involved with their children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. We do not allow persons younger than 18 to register their personal information on this website.
If you are younger than 18 and wish to be kept informed of SYD UK events please ask your parent or guardian to register on the website - during this process they will have the opportunity to record the names of children interested in Siddha Yoga within their family. We will only make contact with someone under 18 via the parent or guardian.
